Noel Whelan has told BBC Radio Leeds that Leeds United striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga looked slow and heavy against Reading last weekend.

Lasogga featured for Leeds in their Championship game against Reading at home last Saturday afternoon.

The 25-year-old striker, who joined the Whites on a season-long loan deal from German club Hamburg in the summer transfer window, started the match at Elland Road and played for 77 minutes.

The former Germany Under-21 international striker failed to score, as Reading won the Championship match 1-0.

Former Leeds striker Whelan has given his take on the performance of Lasogga against the Royals.

“He looked heavy, he looked leggy, he looked slow,” Whelan told BBC Radio Leeds when asked about Lasogga’s performance.

Lasogga has scored three goals and provided two assists in six Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

After a tremendous start for his career at Elland Road, goals seem to have dried up for the striker, who needs to start firing again.

Leeds are still very much in the race for the Championship playoffs, but the Whites desperately need to get a win in their next match.
