Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has been heralding the change in the club’s recent fortunes at Elland Road as a major factor in the club’s good season so far.
The former Elland Road front-man was speaking on his BBC Radio Leeds show about the club’s recent turnaround in form at their home ground and explained how important it was for the club that they should succeed at their famous ground.
He stated:
“Massive! The confidence at the moment within the team, the club, the fans now are coming in to Elland Road whereas last season we didn’t know what we were going to get.
“This season we seem a lot more solid, more enjoyable to watch. We’re winning games which is making a difference which is why we’re 3 points off the play-offs.”

It was not long ago that Leeds were not enjoying their home performances, with consistency at home a real struggle during the Massimo Cellino era.
However, the club are now unbeaten in seven games at home – since Huddersfield Town beat them 1-0 in the West Yorkshire derby in September.
That upturn in form at their home ground is undoubtedly a source of pride for the Leeds fans who have been hoping for consistent positive results at the stadium for some time.
This weekend they take on Burton Albion at Elland Road – a team who have not won on the road since they defeated Colchester United in League One back in April.
Leeds will hope that run continues this weekend.
