Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United lost against Wigan Athletic on Friday.

Leeds suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wigan at Elland Road in the Championship on Friday afternoon.
Bielsa made two substitutions at half time, bringing on Adam Forshaw for Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe for Tyler Roberts.
Former Leeds striker Whelan has suggested that the Whites would have been better off with Phillips on the pitch, and that Roberts should have been kept on.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds regarding the two half-time substitutions: “Not sure, because I was thinking, if I am going to put player on player, I would rather have Kalvin Philips out there, just for range of passing, defensive cover.
“I think he understands a little bit more than Forshaw. That was a strange one to me. Kemar Roofe? You could have still kept Tyler Roberts out there.”

Bouncing back
Leeds did have a lot of chances against Wigan and had 36 shots – of which 10 were on target, according to WhoScored.
The Whites were simply not clinical enough, and the West Yorkshire outfit need to bounce back quickly if they are to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season.
Leeds will take on Brentford away from home in the Championship on Monday evening.
The Whites have to pick up all three points from the match to maintain pressure on second-placed Sheffield United.
