Noel Whelan comments on Leeds United signing Adam Forshaw

Adam Forshaw has joined Leeds United from Middlesbrough in the January transfer window.

Noel Whelan suggested on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:09pm, January 19, 2018) that Adam Forshaw is a good signing for Leeds United.

The West Yorkshire outfit have signed Forshaw from Championship rivals Middlesbrough in the January transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4.5 million.

Former Leeds striker Whelan has given his verdict on the 26-year-old former Brentford and Wigan Athletic star.

Whelan said about Forshaw on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:09pm, January 19, 2018): “He is going to bring experience.

“He has played in the Premier League. Not needed at Middlesbrough. He is of a good age, he is 26 as well, so we have got him at a good time.”

Forshaw was struggling for regular playing time at Middlesbrough this season, but there is no doubt that the midfielder is an accomplished player who is going to make Leeds better.

The 26-year-old will add a certain degree of dynamism to the Leeds midfield and will enhance their chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season.

Leeds will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Millwall at Elland Road in the Championship and should pick up maximum points with relative ease.
