Patrick Bamford joined Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
The former Leeds striker does not believe that Bamford has done enough this season for any club to try to prise him away from Elland Road.
Whelan said about Bamford on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:45pm, May 17, 2019): “I don’t think he is going to be going anywhere soon, put it that way.
“He has got a long contract. He didn’t do enough this season for anyone to go, ‘Yeah, we want him’. So he is at Leeds, simple as that.”

Bamford joined Leeds from Championship rivals Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £7 million.
The former Nottingham Forest and Chelsea forward was supposed to spearhead the Whites’ attack, but the 25-year-old’s season was affected by injury problems.
According to WhoScored, the forward made 16 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in the process.
Bamford could have and would have done much better had he been fit and available through the entire season.
Next season, if Bamford is fit, then he will be a very good player for Leeds.
