Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas recently signed new contracts with Leeds United.
Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa recently said that central defender Cooper and Dallas – who can operate as a winger or as a full-back – can play in the top flight of the English football, as quoted in The Yorkshire Evening Post.
The Scotland international and the Northern Ireland internationals recently signed new contracts with the Championship club.
Former Leeds striker Whelan has agreed with Bielsa, and he has also outlined the progress and development of Cooper.
Whelan said about new contracts for Cooper and Dallas: “Well, firstly deservedly so, the new contracts.
“I think Liam has been fantastic. He has steadily grown each season into the captain and leader that he is today.”
Whelan added about the duo being able to play in the Premier League: “And I agree. I think both can play in the Premier League. I think there’s still plenty to come from both of them.”

Dallas has had injury issues during his time at Leeds, and the Northern Ireland has not always been guaranteed a place in the starting lineup.
The 28-year-old has proved his importance to the team, and there is no surprise that Leeds decided to hand him a new deal.
As for Cooper, the 28-year-old has won over the detractors at Leeds and is a much better player now than he was when he joined the Whites from Chesterfield in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £600,000.
