Eddie Nketiah was Leeds United’s saviour yet again tonight.

It looked certain to be another wasteful night for Leeds United in front of goal away at Preston North End this evening.
Marcelo Bielsa insisted on starting Patrick Bamford yet again but the English striker – who hasn’t scored in two months – drew another blank for the Whites.
A goal from Tom Barkhuizen on 75 minutes sent Leeds behind, but Eddie Nketiah, who replaced Bamford, salvaged a point for Bielsa’s side with a late equaliser.
Fans of the Elland Road were calling on their manager to start the Arsenal loanee ahead of the former Middlesbrough hitman in recent weeks and this was why.
The Argentine coach only threw Nketiah and Tyler Roberts into the mix with 13 minutes left, and former United striker Noel Whelan criticised Bielsa for not making the changes earlier.
He told BBC Radio Leeds: “He should’ve made the substitutions a lot sooner. No disrespect to Preston – I know they’ve got a great home record – but I look back on the chances once again and we’re just squandering them again. We can’t do that week in, week out.”
On the whole, it seemed another case of dropped points for the West Yorkshire side and it’s growing increasingly harder to see how the South American can justify leaving Nketiah on the bench.
