Noel Whelan has announced on Twitter that he is leaving BBC Radio Leeds to take a role at Leeds United.
The former Leeds striker has said he is going back to the West Yorkshire club.
Whelan has been handed a role by Leeds which will see him focus on working in the community with the Foundation.
The Leeds United Foundation is the official charity for the club.
The Englishman is delighted to have been given the role by the club, and he has also thanked everyone at BBC Radio Leeds.
Whelan will be sorely missed on matchdays by all those who listen to BBC Radio Leeds’s excellent coverage of Leeds.
The 46-year-old former striker is very passionate about Leeds and says it as he sees it.
Whelan does not mince his words, and his passion when Leeds win and disappointment when the team lose are there for all to notice.
The pundit’s ‘Get in’ when a goal goes in will be missed by all Leeds fans.
Leeds do some wonderful work in the community, and it is great to see the club hire someone who loves the Whites and is passionate about them.
