Noel Whelan gave his opinion on BBC Radio Leeds (7:24pm, September 12, 2020) on the performance of Leeds United against Liverpool.

Leeds suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side came thrice from behind, but they also conceded two penalties, including one in the 88th minute.

Although the Whites played well and gave the defending Premier League champions a run for their money, defensively they could have been better.

Former Leeds striker Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he gave his opinion on the performance of the West Yorkshire club at full time.

Ex-Leeds star Vinnie Jones has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the final result.

Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds (7:24pm, September 12, 2020): “They put a massive shift in, they showed some real quality at times, scored three fantastic goals. In many games, you would go on and win that game, but let down by poor defending at times, and two penalties, which, especially the last one, it just demolarises you because there’s no need for it.”

Stats
