Leeds United have maintained their good run of form in the Championship, as they have got the better of Sheffield United 1-0 away from home this afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side headed into the match against United away from home at Bramall Lane on the back of a 1-0 victory over Reading at Elland Road in the league.

Pablo Hernandez scored the only goal in the derby in the 82nd minute, as Leeds picked up all three points from the encounter.

Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and the former Leeds striker has given his take on the performance of the West Yorkshire outfit.

Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds on Saturday afternoon at full time (2:25pm, December 1, 2018): “It was a great shape in the second. Defensively, I thought Leeds were sound.”

“What a result,” added Whelan. “To come away to promotion challengers Sheffield United, never easy here, but to show that kind of discipline, aggression – controlled aggression – and come away with a fantastic three points, I mean that is crucial.”

Former Leeds star Dominic Matteo has also taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the final result.
