Noel Gallagher has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will win the Champions League, claiming that ‘nobody cares’ if Liverpool win it again.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are gearing up for a huge clash against Liverpool in the showpiece in Madrid on June 1.
Both teams managed superb comebacks to reach the final.
Tottenham scored three second-half goals – including a last-minute winner – to dump Ajax out in the previous round, while the Reds overturned a 3-0 deficit to Barcelona by beating the Spanish giants 4-0 in Anfield last week.
Jurgen Klopp, whose side lost the Premier League title by a point on Sunday, is bidding to deliver the club’s sixth European Cup title, but the Oasis legend is backing Mauricio Pochettino’s troops to beat them.
He told BBC 5 Live Sport: “They [Liverpool] won’t win it. Tottenham will win the Champions League. I think so. Liverpool have won about 19 of them already. Nobody cares. C’mon Totteham. You need to do it for British football.”
The North Londoners have never won Europe’s biggest prize and in terms of pedigree, the Reds will be favourites.
But the Lilywhites have proven in previous rounds that you can never rule them out, even if Harry Kane is absent.
