Speaking on ESPN, Steve Nicol has been waxing-lyrical about Aaron Ramsdale after his incredible start to life at Arsenal.
Nicol was discussing the Gunners’ summer transfer business, and he says that the London club made a fantastic signing in the shape of Ramsdale, stating that nobody saw this level of performance coming from the goalkeeper.
Nicol even went as far as to say that the £30m Arsenal spent on Ramsdale is the best £30m they’ve ever spent.

Nicol was full of praise for Ramsdale.
“I think Arsenal are maybe 3-4 signings away from competing with the teams above them. For so long we’ve hammered them about the bad signings they’ve made. Well, they’ve made two fantastic signings in my opinion. Ramsdale, nobody saw this coming, it must be the best £30m they’ve ever spent,” Nicol said.

Nicol is absolutely right about Ramsdale, nobody saw this level of performance coming.
Coming off the back of two relegations, many were shocked to see the Gunners spend so much on the Englishman, but he’s surpassed all expectations.
Even those who expected Ramsdale to do well for Arsenal probably didn’t think he’d be this good. He’s genuinely been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this term, and he deserves all of the plaudits that are coming his way.
