Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said in his pre-match press conference this afternoon that Leeds United would have been surprised by their win against Manchester City last weekend.
Klopp’s Liverpool will take on Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Premier League next Monday evening.
The Whites got the better of City 2-1 away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League last weekend.
Leeds played the entire second half with 10 men after defender Liam Cooper was sent off in first-half injury time.
The Whites showed against City last weekend what they are capable of, and the way they defended against the Citizens and hit them on the counter was remarkable.
Klopp said in his pre-match press conference today: “I am pretty sure Leeds were surprised as well when they had a red card. Nobody in the team in the Leeds squad probably thought, ‘Okay, we are halfway through now, we will get the three points’. But in the end they got it, and with the passion they showed, they deserved it.”

Liverpool should be wary
Leeds gave Liverpool a run for their money at Anfield earlier in the season, and the Whites will be determined to pick up all three points against the defending Premier League champions.
Liverpool do have the better players and will fancy their chances of winning against the Whites, but one should not be surprised if Leeds pick up all three points from the encounter at Elland Road.
The match at Elland Road could be a classic, and Leeds will know that they can win it even if they go down t0 10 men like they did against City.
