Phil Hay has said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic that nobody at Leeds United has suggested that Adam Forshaw could retire.
Forshaw has been on the sidelines since September 2019 following a hip injury.
Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa recently said that he cannot give an exact day when the 29-year-old will be back in action in competitive football.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Hay, who now works as the Leeds United correspondent for The Athletic, has said that no one at the club has mentioned about the 29-year-old retiring.
Hay said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic: “I wouldn’t like to say that without speaking to him and certainly nobody at the club has ever said to me – to cut to the chase, we’re talking about retirement or something like that – nobody has ever said that to me and nobody has intimated that might be on his mind.”

Hoping for the best
There is a likelihood that Forshaw will not play again this season, but he is only 29 and still has a lot to offer.
The Englishman – who cost Leeds £4.5 million when they signed him from Middlesbrough in January 2018, as reported by The Sun – did well before his injury, and in due time he will get back to his best.
It must be a disappointment for Forshaw that he is unable to play in the Premier League with Leeds, but for now, he can only be patient.
