West Ham United and Chelsea face each other in the Premier League on Saturday.
This weekend sees rivals West Ham United and Chelsea go head to head in what should be an intriguing London derby.
Both have enjoyed significantly contrasting seasons, with the Hammers flying high under new manager Slaven Bilic and Chelsea looking a shadow of the runaway leaders they were last season.
The key players in the sides are central midfielders Mark Noble and Cesc Fabregas, and who has had a more impressive season so far?
We decided to compare the players to see who comes out on top.
| Total Passes per Game | Accurate Pass per Game | Total Att Assist per Game | Ontarget Attempted Assist per Game | Touches per Game | Unsuccessful Touches per Game | Total Dribbles per Game | Dribbles Won per Game | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cesc Fàbregas | 78.8 | 65.3 | 1.8 | 0.8 | 95 | 0.3 | 1.1 | 0.5 |
| Mark Noble | 46.6 | 40 | 0.8 | 0.6 | 60.6 | 1.2 | 1.5 | 1 |
Surprisingly, it is a comprehensive win for Fabregas despite his side’s struggles as he comes out on top on in six key areas.
The Spaniard wins comfortably when it comes to total passes and successful passes, as well as total attempted assists and on-target attempted assists.
The former Arsenal star is also successful when it comes to the number of touches per game, as well as registering fewer unsuccessful touches per match.
It is not all a loss for Noble, though, as he comes out top when it comes to dribbling, registering more total dribbles and successful dribbles per game than his rival midfielder.
A surprising triumph for Fabregas then, who wins comfortably in this contest despite his and his side’s struggles this season.
Noble will be hoping that he can be successful when the two come face to face this weekend.
