Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have been linked with Noa Lang, but in recent days, there has not been much movement on that front.

Leeds United interest

Back in May, The Daily Mail reported that Leeds were holding talks over signing Lang from Club Brugge.

The winger spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan from Ajax at the Belgian club, who were going to make the deal permanent and then sell him for a profit.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.

Fabrizio Romano update

There has not really been development since then, but Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that talks between Leeds and Club Brugge are going on.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Leeds are still working on a deal to bring in the 22-year-old winger.

Romano said on his Twitch account on Friday night (July 9, 2021): “They told me yesterday that Leeds United are still working for Noa Lang from Club Brugge, so they want Noa Lang as a winger and they are working on it. There is still no official bid but Leeds are interested in Noa Lang.”

Encouraging update

Lang is a very good and promising young winger, and Romano claiming that Leeds are still in talks is very encouraging for the Elland Road faithful.

It shows that the Leeds hierarchy are working hard behind the scenes in order to further strengthen the team.

The Dutch winger scored 16 goals and gave seven assists in the Jupiler Pro League last season.

The 22-year-old also scored one goal in six Champions League games in 2020-21.
