Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Dele Alli’s comments on Instagram Live.
The attack-minded midfielder has claimed that he is ‘super pumped’ for the new Premier League season with Spurs.
This is probably going to be a make or break season for these Spurs players who have under-achieved and gone backwards for several years now.
Alli has been at the heart of that decline. He started to stagnate before Mauricio Pochettino left and then things worsened under Jose Mourinho.
And whilst someone like Mourinho could be used to deflect blame away from the players, it’s not going to be the case this time around.
If those Spurs players, including Alli, produce the same types of performances then it’s not going to sit well with the supporters.
And the Tottenham faithful have made it clear that they want Alli to do his talking on the pitch rather than away from it.
That goalscoring midfielder that had no fear in his game during his early years is needed back in North London because Spurs miss those qualities.
Not many were better than the Englishman in making those late runs from deep, and understandably, he was getting compared to Frank Lampard.
But from being an England international, Alli isn’t even considered when it comes to international football now, which just goes to show how far he has fallen.
