Liverpool fans on Twitter weren’t too pleased with Brendan Rodgers after he stated that he is not going to agree with this ‘narrative’ that the Premier League champions have an injury crisis.

The Reds, who face Atalanta in the Champions League tonight, dispatched his Leicester City side 3-0 at the weekend despite having numerous first-team players missing.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago and Jordan Henderson were injured, whilst their left-footed speedster, Mo Salah was self-isolating.

Despite missing several defensive players, Rodgers insisted that he didn’t see it as a ‘depleted’ back-line and wasn’t in agreement about this injury crisis they are going through, as quoted by the Mirror.

It’s fair to say that a number of Liverpool fans fired back at the comments from their former manager and some weren’t surprised by what he was saying.

Liverpool supporters got to see first hand what Rodgers was like in terms of his man-management skills, interviews after games and judging important situations during his tenure at Anfield.

And they have made it pretty clear that he is once again misjudging this situation because they believe are in a troublesome situation because of how many starting players are missing.

For some, such as Henderson, Thiago, and Alexander-Arnold, they should be returning in the not too distance future. But it’s a different story for their centre-back duo.

Even without them, they still managed to keep a clean sheet against a dangerous Leicester side, who had the in-form Jamie Vardy at their disposal.
