Celtic fans have taken to Twitter after hearing that Ange Postecoglou had won the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month award.

What’s the story?

Well, Postecoglou thoroughly deserves the award after what was a spectacular month for Celtic.

The Bhoys picked up 13 points from a possible 15 in the Scottish Premiership throughout October, with only a draw to Livingston preventing a perfect month.

Celtic also kept three clean sheets in those fives outings, conceding just two goals.

It was a tremendous effort, and Postecoglou fully deserves his award.

Nevertheless, there is still work to do.

Celtic find themselves four points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, having both played 13 games.

However, the Hoops have scored more goals, and have also conceded fewer goals, than the Gers, which certainly bodes well.

Talk about timing! Postecoglou picks up his award amid a time where it looks as if Steven Gerrard will fill the vacancy at Aston Villa.

According to the Guardian, the Villans are confident of snatching the 41-year-old away from Ibrox, with Rangers resigned to losing him.

After he just helped the Bears win their first Scottish Premiership title in a decade, that will come as a huge blow.

Gerrard has pretty much followed in the footsteps of his former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who also swapped Scotland for England.

With Rangers currently plunged into uncertainty as Celtic blossom, we could be about to see Postecoglou and the Bhoys take over.

For now, let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about the announcement
