Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss a comment made by Jose Mourinho on Instagram in reaction to the club’s post about Ben Davies.
After Spurs uploaded a photo of the left-back to announce his withdrawal from the Wales squad, the 58-year-old left a comment.
Mourinho wrote: ‘When a player plays injured to help his team to recover from two bad defeats, this can happen. A man, a team player. 👍’
Now, despite it being a compliment towards Tottenham’s No.33, some supporters are not happy with what the Portuguese coach wrote.
One described the comment as ‘pathetic’ while another said that it’s no wonder Gareth Bale wants to go back to Real Madrid, if this is how the manager thinks.
As the BBC covered, the on-loan Real Madrid forward plans to return to Spain after this season ends.

In fairness, we can see what Mourinho is saying, but we can also understand why supporters are angry.
Due to COVID-19, the fixture schedule has been hectic, while players also didn’t get a proper pre-season under the belts.
In that respect, it probably isn’t wise to make an injured player keep playing on through the pain, and worsen his problem.

Nevertheless, this is the type of thing Mourinho loves. He wants his players to run through brick walls for him, so it’s no surprise he was a fan of Davies ploughing on through the pain.
We doubt the former Swansea man will get the Dele Alli treatment anytime soon – it seems he’s in the ex-Chelsea manager’s good books.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the comment…
