Norwich City have this morning confirmed the appointment of former Aston Villa boss Dean Smith as their new manager.
The club announced on their official website that the Birmingham-born coach had taken over the reins at the Canaries. Smith and former Norwich boss Daniel Farke were sacked in the same weekend earlier in the month.
Yet despite taking some time out of football, Smith has returned to the Premier League with Norwich. The Norfolk side are bottom of the table with just five points after 11 matches.
Indeed, Smith has one heck of a task on his hands in keeping Norwich up. With relegation almost a formality for the Canaries at this stage of the season.
With Steven Gerrard replacing Smith at Villa, both parties have moved on from one another very quickly. Moreover, with Norwich set to face the Villains in December, that fixture could be an important one for both sides.
As for VIlla supporters, they can’t believe that Smith has returned to Premier League management already. With the coach only leaving the club eight days ago.
