Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Daily Mail revealed that Tottenham are keen to sign Ismaila Soro.

The Ivorian only arrived in Glasgow back in January, signing for £2.7 million on a four-and-a-half year contract.

His time at Celtic has been turbulent so far, to say the least.

Neil Lennon, the man who signed him, has departed, while the Bhoys are currently 20 points behind bitter rivals Rangers, who’ve stolen their title.

Despite that, Soro has still made 21 appearances, scoring once while recording one assist.

The Daily Mail claim that Daniel Levy sees the 22-year-old as someone who could bolster Tottenham’s squad, without breaking the bank.

Spurs believe he is a player of great potential in the holding midfield role.

However, the Daily Mail state that he will need to apply for a work permit in order to play for Tottenham, so there’s a potential issue there.

Some Celtic fans are confused by this news.

One supporter said ‘surely not’ while another tweeted ‘no way’ after hearing the news.

Another fan – hopefully jokingly – said ‘£55 million’ will be needed to sign Soro. We can’t imagine Spurs would want to pay a third of that sum, to be honest.

Let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about the Daily Mail’s news…
