Aston Villa fans have absolutely slammed England boss Gareth Southgate for his latest comments about Jack Grealish to the Telegraph.

Villa supporters have become very frustrated with Southgate for his treatment of Grealish.

The Three Lions’ boss has consistently overlooked the playmaker, which is baffling when considering his form.

When England have been searching for creativity, Southgate has almost always ignored the Villa playmaker in favour of other options.

Claret and blues fans suggest that Mason Mount is given preferential treatment to Grealish by Southgate.

And the England boss made a joke about those comments.

“I suppose on that you’re referring to Mason, whose only crime is not to be Jack at the moment,” he said, when asked if Grealish should be starting.

“I’m also aware I should talk about Mason because then it keeps the memes going of me talking about Mason.

“So we have got to fulfil all those requirements just to keep the Villa fans happy, especially. What would they be able to do on social media if they didn’t have that opportunity? So, yes, of course I’m aware Jack’s playing well.”

Villa fans do not feel that Southgate should be making a joke out of the situation, though.

And the England boss’s latest comments have just served to make supporters of the Midlands side even more annoyed.

England are in action in the coming days when they face games against Ireland, Belgium and Iceland, and Grealish will surely be given the opportunity to add to his two caps to date.
