Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger seemingly biting Paul Pogba at Euro 2020 on Tuesday night.

The German defender seemed to have a nibble at the Old Trafford-based midfielder during Germany’s 1-0 defeat to France last night.

A certain ex-Liverpool man in Luis Suarez isn’t a stranger to such incidents in his career – and then receiving heavy punishment for it.

And just like a section of Liverpool supporters have questioned, it will be interesting to see what type of action, if any, is taken on the £29 million player (BBC Sport).

Clearly, Rudiger was trying to get under the skin of Pogba by attempting something daft and his comments of trying to ‘play dirty’ against the French before the game (Metro) now makes sense.

When Suarez decided to take a chunk out of Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup, he was handed a four-month ban, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if others are calling for the same here.

There wasn’t any real reaction from Pogba compared to the Chiellini incident, but it was still a talking point last night.

And if it was some sort of mind games from Rudiger then it didn’t work because the German’s went on to suffer a defeat in their opening Euro 2020 encounter.

The 2014 World Cup winners are in the group of death, along with France, Portugal and Hungary, so there could be a situation where a big-hitter suffers an early exit.
