Liverpool fans were loving the chants coming from the Anfield crowd during their 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Sunday.
Not only was it an entertaining affair on the field of play, but there were a few reminders being made in the stands.
After bring taunted by Manchester City fans, those in Liverpool colours responded by asking them ‘Where are you European Cups?’
It’s perhaps a little delicate subject for the oil-rich club because they don’t have a European Cup trophy in their cabinet and they did lose the final to Chelsea last time out.
Whilst Liverpool have six proudly sitting in their cabinet, it just goes to show, you can’t buy history.
Winning that Champions League still alludes Man City, but, along with another state-owned club in PSG, they are the favourites to win the competition this season.
It’s even evading Pep Guardiola since he left Barcelona and it’s the one dark cloud that is hanging over his quite remarkable managerial career.
If Man City don’t win the European Cup during these coming years, then those who have lifted that trophy, such as those on Merseyside, will be making sure they are reminded about it.
But whilst Man City don’t have that European Cup in their cabinet, they do have the Premier League title and early signs suggest, they are the ones to beat again.
