Tottenham and Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Jose Mourinho’s recent comments.
The now-Roma boss has seemingly upset Spurs fans with his latest comments about the club.
And even some Arsenal fans have agreed at how their North London rivals were wrong to appoint him in the first place.
Mourinho told GQ Portugal, as quoted by Football London, that he has been ‘misled’ in some parts of the projects he has undertaken – the Portuguese has been sacked on all four occasions he has managed in English football.
And then he suggested that Tottenham ‘don’t have a history of success’, which clearly didn’t sit well with Spurs supporters.
It has been just over two months since Daniel Levy sacked Mourinho and he still hasn’t been able to find a replacement.
The Mourinho appointment may have gone wrong, but Levy has dealt with it all in a pretty comical fashion – and nothing suggests it’s going to stop.
Manchester City hadn’t won the League Cup final by the time Mourinho was sacked, yet they are now closer to winning another trophy (the community shield) in August than they are from winning that Wembley showdown.
This is a big upcoming season in North London because there’s no doubt that both Spurs and Arsenal failed miserably in 2020/21.
If Mikel Arteta doesn’t start well then it has to be questioned how on earth he keeps his job – and the fact that the Gunners aren’t in Europe for the first time in 25 years doesn’t help his cause.
And if Mourinho’s replacement also starts on a slippery slope then, unless he’s a pretty popular appointment, then he will find it pretty difficult holding onto his job also.
