Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to hit back at Gary Neville, after the Sky Sports pundit commented on the club’s transfer activity.
What’s the story?
Well, speaking to Sky Sports, Neville questioned the strategy behind Arsenal’s summer signings.
Mikel Arteta spent £147.5m on six players this summer, all of whom are aged 23 or under.
Martin Ødegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Takehiro Tomiyasu have all arrived in north London.
However, Neville felt this was a somewhat scattergun approach.
He said: “They’re spending a load of money – I’m not sure what the strategy is. It seems a little all over the place.”
Now, the Arsenal fans haven’t taken kindly to these comments, and we don’t blame them.
Gary Neville’s comments on Arsenal make no sense

There is clearly a strategy behind what Arteta and Edu did this summer.
Only time will tell if these six players are successful, although the thinking behind their arrivals is crystal clear.
Arsenal evidently want to inject some youthfulness into the squad, but also add players who can impact the present in addition to the future.
Every player Arsenal signed this summer can boast great experience in the senior game despite their youthfulness.

There are plenty of things to question the Gunners for right now, but lacking a transfer strategy this summer is not one of them.
Arsenal have clearly opted against repeating mistakes such as Willian and Stephan Lichtsteiner, and their aims in the market are clear.
Neville either hasn’t been paying much attention, or he simply wants to kick the Gunners while they’re down.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Neville’s comments…
