Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after hearing Steve Bruce’s six-word analysis of the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
As quoted by the Chronicle, the Magpies boss said: “We’re unbeaten in our last couple.”
That is a very strange way to look at Newcastle’s form over the last few months.
Yes, it’s a fact that Newcastle are unbeaten in a few games, having recorded three successive draws against Wolves, West Brom and Aston Villa.
However, the Magpies have just two wins in their last 19 games!
That is relegation form, without a shadow of a doubt.

Furthermore, while Bruce wants to see three draws in a row as something to be proud of, his side really needed to win at least one of them with the fixtures they have coming up.
In the last 11 games of the season, Newcastle face Tottenham, West Ham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester – all of which are seriously tough games.

In that respect, clashes with sides like West Brom need to be won – in no way should a draw against them be seen as a positive at this stage.
Understandably, the Newcastle fans on Twitter are furious – they have every right to be.
Let’s see what they’ve had to say about his six-word analysis…
