Manchester City have reportedly dropped their interest in Harry Kane heading into the January transfer window.
According to the Sun, the Premier League side will give up on their pursuit of the Tottenham star after failing to sign the striker in the summer. As reported by the Mirror, City made a £100m offer for Kane that was rejected.
Indeed, Daniel Levy dug his heels in deep to retain Kane over the off-season, and the Tottenham chairman succeeded with City now not keen on signing the attacker.
As per the report, Erling Haaland is now the main target for City, with the Borussia Dortmund superstar set to be available for cheaper than what Kane was valued at for Spurs.
The 21-year-old attacker will likely be one of the most sought after players in 2022, with Haaland having a release clause that becomes activated in the New Year.
And City, as well as the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid, are hot on Haaland’s tale. And the decision to chase the striker over Kane could prove to be a beneficial one.
The Bundesliga star is seven years younger than Kane and has been in great goalscoring form, with the Tottenham star bagging just two goals in the Premier League this season.
