Some Liverpool fans have spotted what Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola did after their Champions League final defeat by Chelsea last night.

The Stamford Bridge club won the competition for a second time after beating Guardiola’s side 1-0 in Portugal.

Liverpool are still the most successful Premier League club in the history of the Champions League, winning it six times.

And because of that, some fans of the Anfield club were puzzled by the Spaniard’s post-match actions on Saturday.

Guardiola, whose side finished 17 points above Liverpool in the Premier League, kissed his runners up medal immediately after being awarded it.

Here’s how some Reds fans reacted on Twitter:

Not a big deal?

It might be tempting to suggest that Pep was settling for second best.

But we’re talking about a man who’s won three of the last four Premier League titles, not to mention countless other domestic trophies during his career.

The Sky Blues boss clearly has an elite mentality – evident by the fact that Manchester City were in the final in the first place – and there’s a difference between celebrate failure and accepting it in the moment, which is what the former Barcelona coach seemed to do.

It wouldn’t surprise many if City returned to the final in 12 months and this time went one step further.
