Aston Villa fans have been left furious, as Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho appeared to put the pressure on making sure their game goes ahead on Wednesday evening.

Villa have hardly had ideal preparation for the fixture, with the training ground closed.

However, Tottenham boss Mourinho spoke to Football London about how he expected the game to go ahead in midweek.

“Nobody told me that I’m not going to play so tomorrow morning we start to prepare for that game, and the same Tuesday unless somebody tells us different,” he said.

And Villa fans have not reacted particularly well to the comments from the Portuguese boss.

Mourinho’s desire to get the game on is understandable, considering Spurs already have a cluttered fixture list.

Tottenham have very few free weeks between now and the end of the campaign, so if the game does have to be rescheduled, it will be tough to actually find a date where Spurs can play it.

If the game does go ahead Villa will be at a major disadvantage though, and it could be a test for their side to go into the game with so little practice on the training ground.
