The Telegraph claim that Liverpool midfielder’s injury may be so severe that he could be out for months.
There were fears that Henderson could miss the rest of this campaign, but with Liverpool’s title already wrapped up, that wasn’t a massive blow.
If the Reds captain is out for the opening of next season though, that will cause concern around Liverpool.
Henderson has been hugely important for Jurgen Klopp’s men this season, and if he is absent for the start of next season, it could give the title chasing pack an advantage.
Liverpool fans are certainly worried by the rumour that Henderson’s absence could be a lengthy one, and have taken to Twitter to express their concerns.
Jurgen Klopp’s side already appear to be looking for a central midfielder, and with Henderson out their need to enter the transfer market may only increase.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Thiago recently, but whether they will be able to do a deal for the Bayern midfielder remains to be seen.
