Some Leeds United fans on social media have been left absolutely fuming by the announcement on Thursday evening that Jurgen Klopp had beaten Marcelo Bielsa to the FIFA Best Men’s Coach award.

Leeds supporters, who are understandably a little bit biased, believe that Bielsa should have won the award, and they were even more flabbergasted by the fact he finished third.

To be fair, it was something of a surprise to see Bielsa finish third, as fans were able to vote on this award, and you’d have expected the Argentine to run away with that section of the vote due to how passionate and vocal Leeds fans have been about their manager’s achievements, but he even finished third on that metric.

Of course, the debate of whether or not Bielsa should have been nominated for winning the English second division with one of the biggest clubs in the country is there to be argued, and plenty of people within the game have given their view on it, but in the eyes of Leeds fans he was a worthy winner.

You can understand why Leeds fans see things in this way, after all, Bielsa finally led them into Premier League after 16 years outside of the top-flight, and he played some of the most entertaining football Elland Road has ever seen.

Bielsa is clearly loved by the people of Leeds, he’s even had a street in the city named after him, so it’s to be expected that United supporters would have such a strong reaction to the news Klopp pipped him to this award.
