It’s fair to say that Arsenal fans aren’t particularly keen on the idea of Steven Nzonzi joining them.

FootMercato claims that Arsenal are now interested in landing Nzonzi, who could become a free agent at the end of his contract with Roma.

The 32-year-old would offer Arsenal experience and could be a cheap option for Mikel Arteta’s side.

But Arsenal supporters don’t appear to feel that Nzonzi has the quality required to really make an impact on their side.

Nzonzi has previously impressed in the Premier League with Stoke City, but Arsenal fans’ reticence towards signing him is somewhat understandable.

The rangy midfielder is not the most exciting of signings, and he is in an age bracket where he is unlikely to improve.

Although he could give them further depth in midfield on a free transfer, Arsenal may be better off looking at younger alternatives.

And it would be a surprise if Arsenal actually went as far as offering a contract to the World Cup winner from 2018.
