Leeds United may have beaten Manchester City on Saturday, but Marcelo Bielsa had a bit of bad news for his players after the game, hinting that he may change his training methods.

Indeed, Leeds pulled off the most unlikely of victories, beating Pep Guardiola’s side despite playing the majority of the game with 10-men.

It wasn’t a vintage Bielsa performance, with Leeds sitting much deeper than they ever usually do, but it seemed to work, and Bielsa liked the look of this more pragmatic style.

The Argentine was asked after the game if he’d practiced playing in this way, and he said that he hadn’t, but he may start doing from now on.

“Nada. Never. Nothing that happened today had any influence from my part. But I will bear it in mind to train like this,” Bielsa said.

Luke Ayling wasn’t a fan of the idea of training like this, taking to social media to share his feelings.

Murderball already sounds like one of the hardest sessions a player will ever have to take part in, so the idea of doing an even tougher of version of that sounds like a nightmare.

Leeds players will be praying that Bielsa doesn’t make their training even harder than it already is, but if it produces more results like this, they may not mind.
