Some Everton fans on social media have been reacting to reports linking Thierry Small with a move away from Goodison Park, with Arsenal and Leeds touted as two potential suitors.
The young left-back has long been touted as one of the next big things at Everton, but it seems as though they may end up losing him before he can flourish on Merseyside.
The 16-year-old has been offered new terms to stay at Everton, but this report states that the left-back isn’t keen on signing terms due to the lack of first-team opportunities he’s been afforded by Carlo Ancelotti.
Small is certainly a fantastic talent, netting six goals in 21 appearances at youth level this term, and that’s while playing the majority of his games as a left-back.
As you can imagine, Everton supporters had plenty to say after hearing these rumours.
Some fans were resigned to losing him, admitting that he has every right to look for first-team football, while others had the opposite view, claiming that he’s being poorly advised and would be making a mistake if he leaves.
Arsenal and Leeds aren’t his only suitors, with Brentford, Brighton and Manchester United also interested, it will be intriguing to see where this young man ends up.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming months.
Here’s what the Goodison Park faithful have been saying on social media…
