Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed he has told Yannick Bolasie to leave the club by the end of the transfer window.
The Toffees spent £25 million in summer 2016 to sign the Congo international from Crystal Palace (BBC). Bolasie has played only 32 times for Everton in all competitions, scoring just two goals and providing four assists.
That is a shocking return for an attacker who cost the club so much money. Bolasie was shipped out on loan on multiple occasions. The 31-year-old had spells at Aston Villa, Anderlecht and most recently Sporting Lisbon, scoring ten goals in a combined 63 games.
The Congolese attacker has entered the final year of his contract at Everton. The Toffees already have Richarlison, Bernard, Alex Iwobi and Anthony Gordon among others capable of playing in Bolasie’s position.
When quizzed about Bolasie’s future, the Everton boss confirmed the attacker had been asked to leave before the transfer window closes.
He told the Liverpool Echo: “Bolasie is training well, professionally. He’s not part of the squad. He can train with us until he finds a club at the end of the market. I have told him we have a big squad and, unfortunately, there is no space for him.”

It will be interesting to see where Bolasie ends up next. He was a star for Crystal Palace during his time at Selhurst Park but a move away from the Eagles hasn’t proved a success.
The European transfer window closes on Monday, which leaves Bolasie with little time to secure a move. However, Premier League clubs can continue transfer business with EFL clubs until 16 October (Sky Sports).
That should be enough time for the Everton man to find a new club. However, it will be interesting to see if he is open to a move to the Championship, a league he has played in more than 100 times.
