Wolverhampton Wanderers have really impressed this season.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, ahead of his side’s home game against Bolton Wanderers today, and offered high praise for the manner in which his players conduct themselves during training.

The Black Country outfit currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, with a four point lead over second placed Cardiff City, and are in the midst of a wonderful run of form that has seen them win seven of their last eight league outings.

The Portuguese deserves great credit for the manner in which he galvanised the Wolves players, following their underwhelming campaign last season, and transformed them into arguably the Championship’s most exciting footballing side.

And Nuno spoke to Wolves.Co.Uk about what he believes is behind their run to the top of the table, highlighting the players’ intensity in training as something that stands them in great stead on matchdays:

“All of the players have been doing well in how they are working, their distances, the high intensity runs. They are giving good answers to any questions and that is because they are working hard every day. All of the players, whether they are playing or not, are working hard and waiting for their chance. There is no secret – it is about the way we train, the way we work, and it is credit to the players for the way they prepare themselves and take care of themselves.”

Nuno’s side have taken 41 points from their opening 18 league outings this season, and a similar return from the next 18 games would surely put them in a position where promotion is almost a formality, and that would represent quite the turnaround from last season’s extremely mediocre efforts.
