Newcastle United were expected to be the busiest team in the Premier League in the January transfer window, and they didn’t disappoint.
The Magpies added no fewer than five new first-team players to their roster, and they’ve really strengthened their chances of staying in the Premier League this term.
However, with five new players comes a number of selection headaches, and if Newcastle are to find their form quickly, Eddie Howe needs to settle on his strongest XI.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at picking what we believe to be the Magpies’ best team post-January.

This is a new-look Newcastle team as four signings come immediately into the XI.
The main reshuffle is at the back as Kieran Trippier, Matt Targett and Dan Burn come straight into the side.
Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes comes into the midfield, while Joelinton’s recent renaissance in the middle of the park has earnt him a spot in this side.
Perhaps controversially, there’s no room for £25m man Chris Wood in this team. Callum Wilson is currently out injured, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if he came straight back into the team upon his return, especially as he already has an established rapport with Eddie Howe.
