Roy Keane has said on ITV (4:20pm, July 30, 2022) that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will continue to score goals this season.

The Manchester United legend has pointed out that Salah has just signed a new contract with Liverpool and is happy at Anfield.

Keane made the comments in the build-up to the FA Community Shield between Liverpool and Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Salah, who cost Liverpool £34 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2017 (BBC Sport), scored one of the goals in Liverpool’s 3-1 win.

Keane said on ITV (4:20pm, July 30, 2022) when asked if Liverpool could rely on Salah to score goals this season following Sadio Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich this summer: “There is no reason why he wouldn’t. He has just signed a new contract, so he is happy to stay there.”

Big player for Liverpool

In our view, Mohamed Salah is one of the best players in the world and remains a key figure at Liverpool.

The 30-year-old did not have a particularly great second half of the season in 2021-22, but the forward still ended up with 23 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League.

As he showed against Manchester City at the weekend, Salah remains at the top of his game and is as sharp as ever.

Liverpool fans can rely on Salah to deliver the goods for them this season, just as he has been doing for the past few years.
