Kalvin Phillips has expressed his desire to stay at Manchester City beyond this summer despite rumoured interest from David Moyes’ West Ham United.
The 26-year-old has just won the Treble in the colours of Manchester City, but he played just over 500 minutes in all competitions, as he spent a lot of time on the bench or in the treatment room.
There was a lot of talk around West Ham possibly signing Kalvin Phillips this summer as Declan Rice’s replacement, but he has put all of that to bed by stating ‘no reason for me to leave’, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

It has been talked about often that sometimes you need 12 months to settle into a Guardiola system, before you can thrive and make the ball talk.
One prime example is Jack Grealish, who went from sitting on the bench most of the time last season, to now playing a major role in their Treble success.
Perhaps that will come to Phillips next term, with the former Leeds United man adamant to stay.
“My intention is to stay at Man City,” said Phillips. “We’ve just won the Treble, so there is no reason for me to leave. I cannot give it 12 months and say I am not playing so I am going to leave.”

Who will replace Rice at West Ham?
The West Ham captain isn’t out of the door yet, but Arsenal are doing everything they can to get a deal over the line.
Perhaps Manchester City will come knocking for his services? Either way, Moyes will need a replacement, or two.
Phillips’ name was touted around, prior to his comments, and the ‘high-class’ midfielder would have been a very valuable asset to the West Ham team, but now they will have to look elsewhere.
