Stuttgart are losing no sleep about reports linking Borna Sosa and Sasa Kalajdzic with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, director Sven Mislintant says via Sport Buzzer.

Is there are more potent partnership in European football?

For what felt like the umpteenth time since Stuttgart returned to the Bundesliga in 2020, that old Sasa-Sosa double act came up trumps again, snatching a last-gasp point away at Union Berlin.

Kalajdzic, the 6ft 7ins centre-forward, has scored three league goals since returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines recently. And every one of those has been set up by one of Sosa’s trademark pinpoint deliveries from the left-hand side.

And, with reports claiming that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham have their sights firmly fixed on both players ahead of this summer’s transfer window, will Kalajdzic be powering home one of those classic Sosa crosses in North London next season?

From the Bundesliga to the Premier League?

According to Kicker, Spurs and West Ham want the £17 million-rated Kalajdzic. Sosa, valued even higher at £25 million, is a target not just for Tottenham but also Arsenal and Aston Villa (Christian Falk).

Not that Mislintat is losing any sleep just yet.

“We have always emphasised that we will sit down with the respective player in the case of (transfer) offers in order to find the best solution for VfB and the player,” says the former Arsenal and Dortmund director.

“It can be a transfer but, of course, it can also mean staying at VfB.

“Borna, Sasa and Orel (Mangala) have contracts with us beyond the summer. So there is no reason to get nervous. At the moment, this topic is very far away anyway. Our entire concentration is on the current season and our goal, to stay in the Bundesliga.

“Everything else is not important now.”

Europe’s best attacking left-back?

Stuttgart are currently 14th in the table but out of the relegation zone on goal difference alone.

And Sosa, a left-back in the Leighton Baines mould, has already indicated that he will be allowed to leave the 2007 Bundesliga winners with the transfer window opens.

“I can confirm that I have a lot of interest. That is a fact,” explains the Croatia international. “The time has come for me to take a new step in my career.”

“(The Premier League) I would say is by far the strongest league. Definitely, I have a great desire to play in the Premiership.

“I can also tell you that I was very, very close to leaving last winter. However, the club decided not to let me go. But I got a promise. And it reads; ‘if I get a satisfactory offer in the summer, I can leave’.”
