Clinton Morrison said on BBC Sport (5:58pm, March 14, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho was showing a different reaction to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg during the North London derby against Arsenal at the weekend.
Tottenham suffered a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Former Crystal Palace forward Morrison was on co-commentary duty for the match for BBC Radio 5 live, and he made an observation about midfielder Hojbjerg and Mourinho.
The BBC Sport pundit noticed that midway through the second half when the former Southampton midfielder gave away possession, Mourinho did not react, unlike he was doing with other players who were making mistakes.
Morrison said on BBC Sport (5:58pm, March 14, 2021): “See, he gives the ball there, no reaction from Jose Mourinho, though. See, you have got to do it to every player there, that’s what I am saying. You give the ball away, you have got to have the same reaction as a manager because players will see that and pick up on that.”
Moving on
It was a disappointing performance from Tottenham in the North London derby, especially in the first half, and Mourinho will be bitterly disappointed with the final result.
However, Spurs cannot dwell on it for much longer, as they have a Europa League game coming up on Thursday and then they will be back in action in the Premier League this coming weekend.
Despite the defeat, Spurs are still very much in the running for the Premier League top four.
