Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to a ‘horrible’ injury development regarding Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian sensation came off injured during Arsenal’s demoralising defeat by Everton at Goodison Park on Monday evening.

Remember, Martinelli had really been blossoming in this Gunners outfit again since a brilliantly-taken goal against Newcastle United last month.

But Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said that he was ‘not very positive‘ about a prognosis on Martinelli’s latest ailment.

Here’s how some supporters of the Emirates Stadium club are reacting to Arteta’s comments on Twitter:

Potentially massive blow

This could possibly be truly awful news for Arsenal.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang jetting off for the Africa Cup of Nations later this month, Arteta needs Martinelli now more than ever.

Okay so Aubameyang hasn’t exactly been playing out of his skin for Arsenal as of late.

But as the adage goes, form is temporary and class is permanent.

Arsenal will miss the Gabon international because not only is he brilliant on his day, but he’s also club captain.

Supporters of the North London outfit probably would’ve been excited by the prospect of seeing Martinelli replacing him as the spearhead of the attack.

But if this injury is as serious as Arteta hinted, Arsenal may be stuck with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah – linked with a January move away – as Aubameyang replacements.
