
Leeds United will be without Kalvin Phillips for their next Premier League game.
The 25-year-old midfielder picked up a silly booking in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur for what was his fifth yellow card of the season.
As a result, Phillips will serve a one-match ban and it’ll come in Leeds’ visit of Brighton & Hove Albion on January 16, after the FA Cup tie with Crawley Town next week.
Phillips has been a brilliant player under Marcelo Bielsa in the top flight, resulting in him winning some England caps.
He’ll be a big miss against the Seagulls and it’s particularly frustrating some Leeds fans because of how needless the foul was.
He fouled Spurs striker Carlos Vinicius in the final minute of yesterday’s defeat in North London, well after the game was already lost for Bielsa’s side.
