Leeds United players have had a mixed time during this international break.
Wilfried Gnonto has been criticised by the Italian media, while sadly the same can be said of Tyler Adams over in the USA.
However, there have been some bright spots. Sonny Perkins netted a hat-trick for England’s U19 side last week, while Luis Sinisterra put in an almost pass-perfect performance against Mexico early on Wednesday morning.
Indeed, the Colombian made something of an impact off the bench against El Tri, netting twice as the South Americans came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

The two goals are the headline, but it was Sinisterra’s all-around play that really made us sit up and take notice.
Every single time the winger got the ball he was making smart decisions. He completed every single one of his attempted passes, while both of his shots on target ended up in the back of the net.
The attacker’s tenacity was also on show, he won both of his aerial duels, while he also completed one tackle and one interception – contesting three ground duels on the day.
There really aren’t any holes to be poked in this performance. If you were to be hyper-critical you may point towards the one dribble attempt made by Sinisterra being an unsuccessful one, but at least the Leeds star was trying to make things happen.
Sadly, Sinisterra and Colombia won’t be able to strut their stuff on the world stage in Qatar this winter, but based on this performance against a more than decent Mexico team, Colombia would’ve more than held their own in Qatar had they qualified.
One thing is for sure. Leeds United have bagged themselves a star in the shape of Sinisterra.
