‘No one’s unsellable’: President admits reported £14m Arsenal and Leeds target could go

Dijon president Oliver Delcourt replied “no one is unsellable” when asked about interest in reported Arsenal, Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers target Mounir Choir while speaking to Lensois.

Last summer Arsenal raided French football for a dazzling young winger who loves nothing more than cutting in from the flank before whipping swerving shots into the proverbial postage stamp.

Chouiar is certainly more comfortable on his right than his left and would be a whole lot cheaper than Nicolas Pepe at a bargain £14 million.

But with cash-flow problems forcing Arsenal to prioritise young hungry talent rather than £72 million stars these days, L’Equipe reports the France U21 international has emerged as a cut-price target for Mikel Arteta’s rapidly improving side.

Wolves might have two of the most exciting left-wingers in England at present, with Daniel Podence starting to outshine Diogo Jota in old gold, but the club is also reported to be interested alongside newly promoted Leeds United.

And while Delcourt was keen to play down speculation, the Dijon president made one statement that will have ears pricking up in London, West Yorkshire and the Black Country.

“No one is unsellable,” Delcourt said. “(But) I have received no contact and no offers.”

That could change soon, of course, with only three weeks left in the transfer window.

Chouiar shot to fame with eight goals during an impressive breakthrough season across the Channel last term and would add depth to a fearsome Arsenal front line that destroyed Fulham 3-0 on the opening day.
