Well Tottenham Hotspur succeeded in stopping Romelu Lukaku, but Chelsea have much more quality than just the big striker.

Chelsea recorded a 3-0 win over their London rivals in the North of the capital this evening.

Tottenham held Chelsea, the European champions, to a 0-0 draw at half time, but the visitors came into the second half with a lot more purpose and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side couldn’t deal with them at all.

With four goals in five games before kickoff, there’s no doubt who Chelsea’s danger man was.

But Lukaku cut a frustrated figure for a lot of the game and only really got a sight at goal in the final five minutes, when his downward header was straight at Hugo Lloris.

The Belgium international didn’t see a whole lot of the ball and Clinton Morrison, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, claims the player was livid at the lack of service.

“Lukaku is fuming no-one passed to him. Great opportunities. The main man, who you wanted it to fall to, doesn’t have one.”

Touches

According to WhoScored, the former Inter Milan hitman, who returned to West London this past summer, managed only 34 touches in 90 minutes.

He isn’t the sort of striker who constantly needs the ball for the sake of his confidence.

But even that’s a very low figure and one that sums up his frustration.

Still, it was a huge win for Thomas Tuchel’s side and one that brings them top of the Premier League table, above Liverpool and Manchester United.
