Sky Sports presenter, Dave Jones, brilliantly pulled up Jamie Carragher for his comments about Liverpool not thinking about winning the ‘quadruple’ this season.

The Anfield legend claimed ‘no-one in Liverpool’ is thinking about that, only for Mo Salah to admit later on in an interview that he is ‘already visualising’ that possible scenario, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

The Reds already have one trophy in their cabinet this season – their League Cup final win over Chelsea.

Whilst Man City are the ones leading the Premier League title race, those from Merseyside will feel they can still push ahead of them before the final ball is kicked in May.

Added with the Champions League and FA Cup, all of this could be pretty tasty, not just for Liverpool, but Manchester City also in wanting to win multiple trophies this term.

Nonetheless, when Carragher confidently claimed that Liverpool aren’t talking about doing the unthinkable, little did he know that Salah would later in an interview contradict what he just said.

“What I would say is, I don’t about Manchester, but in Liverpool, nobody is talking about that,” said Carragher. “I can assure you of that. Nobody is getting excited about a quadruple.”

Salah then claimed later: “Well, I already visualise that, so it’s going to be a lovely feeling. I hope we are going to win four.”

Sky presenter Dave Jones: “Like Jamie Carragher has told us ‘no-one in Liverpool is thinking about the quadruple’. Apart from the players.”

There is a reason why such a feat has never been matched in English football before, with Manchester United being the only team to win the treble.

Klopp will back his players to add at least one more trophy to their ranks, but completing it all would just be ridiculous.

Nonetheless, whilst Liverpool and Man City lock horns in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend.

Don’t be surprised if their talents are pitted against one another in the Champions League final also because many will be backing that script to become a reality.
