Fenerbahce have not received a bid for Ozan Tufan despite reported interest from Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion, director Emre Belezoglu told Hurriyet.

When it comes to transfer rumours emanating out of Turkey, it is not easy to sort the wheat from the chaff.

While Crystal Palace are indeed firm admirers of Tufan – with the man himself admitting that he came close to joining the Eagles a few years ago (Goal) – reports suggesting that Roy Hodgson’s side had issued a £9 million bid appear to be wide of the mark (Sabah).

West Brom are also rumoured to be interested in the goal-scoring midfielder who, according to Hurriyet, is valued at £13.5 million.

“Ozan has a very good heart. There is no official offer that has been received (for him),” former Newcastle United, Inter Milan and Turkey ace Emre explained.

This is not to say that Palace or West Brom will not make a bid before the month is out.

Crystal Palace have been scouring the market for players capable of injecting some youthful exuberance into an ageing squad and Tufan, a box-to-box dynamo with four goals and five assists to his name this season, could be a long-term replacement for 33-year-old James McArthur at Selhurst Park.
